Blueair 603 Air Purifier - Standard Review

(More customer reviews)I was diagnosed six months ago as having a severe dust mite allergy and also as slightly allergic to cats.We have two cats, I didn't want to get rid of, so our compromise was to buy two blueair filters.We bought the 603 for the first floor, which is about 1000 square feet, and a 503 for our bedroom.We have run them nonstop since we bought them six months ago.

Last year when I went to the allergist, I had been having breathing problems for 9 months and what seemed like a nonstop cold.This winter I have felt great all winter!I think the blueair HEPA filters really made the difference (I did also put my mattress and pillows in dust mite covers).

We leave it running on high 24 hours a day, and it has worked great.It sounds like a typical fan on high, but on the HEPA Silent mode, you can't hear it.In fact my husband will turn it to HEPA Silent and I'll get mad at him because I think he's shut it off!

When we decided to buy a heavy duty HEPA filter, we wanted the best we could get, since this was seriously affecting my health.I definitely feel we did get the best. I should add that we owned a low-end Honeywell HEPA filter for years which I slept with on in my room - and it didn't help at all with my allergies.It's definitely worth getting a quality product.

(More customer reviews)I have often looked at air filters with some skepticism.However, I kept visiting a friends house who had multiple filters with ionizers and noticed that I felt good when I left and the air seemed so fresh.After a few repitions of this experience, I decided to give one a try and I was most pleased.

When I bought this unit I had a cold and I was waking up with a lot of congestion and not sleeping very soundly.I put this unit in my bedroom and in the morning I felt much better and more clear.I thought it might just be that I was getting better, so I turned it off the next night and experienced the same congestion.Now... when I don't use it, I notice I don't sleep as soundly and I have more issues with being stuffy.

I am trained as a biochemist and worked teaching physiology.Based on my EXPERIENCE, not research.... I have found that I sleep more soundly and have less problems with allergies, congestion, etc. when I use this product.I also have a cat that sometimes comes into the bedroom and I'm sure her hair contributes to these issues.However, when I run this product it's not a problem.

Also... I recommend using the ionizer.For me, this seems to be the best setting and I feel at my best when this is engaged when I leave it on all night.I'm not sure what it's doing for me exactly, but it's doing something and I'm sufficiently impressed with the results that I'm considering buying a second unit.

Finally, I think it's convenient and easy to maintain to have the permanent filter.I know this product is s bit expensive, but I think it may be one of those cases where you get what you pay for.I've been in environments with other types of air filters and I haven't found that they work as well or run as quietly as this one.Also, the replacement filter costs can make the cost of ownership even higher.This is something you will probably want to consider carefully, especially if you have pets or get a lot of dust in your environment.

(More customer reviews)I bought this air purifier because it's reasonable in price and I like the tower design, which doesn't take up a lot of space.One thing I like about it is the optional ionizer.Most towers are ionic air purifiers, but I wanted a filter because I'm concerned about the ozone that the ionizers create as a byproduct.The noise on low is alright; it's tolerable, but I wouldn't want to sleep with it on medium or high because it's too noisy.I've only had it about a week and I think the air smells cleaner and I've stopped sneezing at home.I am seriously considering buying another one to put downstairs.Overall at the price I paid (about $70), so far I'm satisfied.

However it is loud (at high settings) and the air comes out one small area on the top side - giving the discharge a "blow dryer" like air velocity. (More customer reviews)You can also find this filter at Target stores.It includes two triple-ply filters and a foam filter on top of those to catch the large particles like dust and cat or dog hair.It has three levels of action, but I put it on high as I like the `white noise' that it provides, as it helps to put me to sleep.Although you are supposed to replace the filters at 90-180 days, I simply take my vacuum cleaner attachment and reverse suck the small particles from the filters, making them last longer.The foam filter on top is simply washed in the sink to remove the dust and hairs.The ionizer also helps with musty smells and can be turned on or off.In a large room, you don't need to be concerned about over-ionization or nitrous oxide problems.It's good looking and provides a slight breeze, cleanliness, ionization and a `white noise'.The filters are also not expensive, although I wish I could afford one that does not require replacement filters.I could not sleep without one.

(More customer reviews)I originally purchased two of these purifiers to help keep down dust. It definitely helps in that arena.We then brought home a new dog, golden retriever. We hadn't had a dog for quite some time, so after a few days you could really smell the dog.I put one of these purifiers in "her" room, which is pretty big (we converted our two car garage into her room). The next morning you could really tell the difference.I will have to change the filters out in that unit much quicker than the other one in the house, but it really works in taking odors out of the air. It is a good buy!!

Got home pluged it in and worked GREAT.was a little noisy on the hi-speed but that was no problem "thumbs up."Left it in the living room to clean out the air.Went to take a shower and once I was finished I came back to notice that the fan had stop.~!~!!

ok checked it out.... The power was on and the ionizer was on, but the fan wasn't blowing.I pushed the low speed, Mid speed, and Hi speed button. To MY SUPRISE ..Nope it didn't work. Got in closer and notice there was a shortage burning smell. You know that smell when you plug-in the wrong adaptor cable to your printer and short the whole thing out.

But this Thing worked for a WHOLE TEN ULTRA SLAMMing Minutes.So I dont want to knock the company down but I did note that the way it was package.. Well let me put it this way... It was like The box was playing that old school Pong game with my Air purifier ~~~|.| ~~~

So maybe thats why it was defective after 10 SLLLLAMMMING minutes.But you can give it a try, and I hope and pray it works Well for you. But me personally....... I Wont ORDER This PRoduct NEEVERR AGAIN... and I hope that "never again," echos in your brain like you are in the grand canyon.

Honeywell Quiet Clean Air Purifier Review

(More customer reviews)Yes, this air filter kinda looks like a Cylon from Battlestar Galactica. The glowing blue UV light is cool looking, especially in a dark room.

I like this filter because it works very well to clear the air and the filters are permanent (no replacement filters!) and said filters can be cleaned easily by the user (if you have a vacuum cleaner).

I can honestly say this filter has helped my allergies. Judging from how much gunk was on the filters when I cleaned them, I think I made a good purchase.

The fan has three speeds, so in the warmer months it makes a great fan as well as an air cleaner.

I think this filter is a bit more noisy than the company claims, at least on the higher fan speeds, but it's pretty quiet overall.

There is a timer you can set so the filter can turn itself off (after up to 18 hours) if you want to filter the air while you're out.

Overall, I'm very pleased I purchased this product (and I got a great deal on Amazon...even better than eBay...and even better than the deal I could have gotten from my friend's mom, who works for Honeywell).
