(More customer reviews)Yes, this air filter kinda looks like a Cylon from Battlestar Galactica. The glowing blue UV light is cool looking, especially in a dark room.
I like this filter because it works very well to clear the air and the filters are permanent (no replacement filters!) and said filters can be cleaned easily by the user (if you have a vacuum cleaner).
I can honestly say this filter has helped my allergies. Judging from how much gunk was on the filters when I cleaned them, I think I made a good purchase.
The fan has three speeds, so in the warmer months it makes a great fan as well as an air cleaner.
I think this filter is a bit more noisy than the company claims, at least on the higher fan speeds, but it's pretty quiet overall.
There is a timer you can set so the filter can turn itself off (after up to 18 hours) if you want to filter the air while you're out.
Overall, I'm very pleased I purchased this product (and I got a great deal on Amazon...even better than eBay...and even better than the deal I could have gotten from my friend's mom, who works for Honeywell).
