(More customer reviews)I use my Holmes air cleaner in an average sized bedroom where a smoker stays. The cleaner itself seems to work okay at keeping the smoke and odor down to a minimum. I bought these thinking it would be even better at odor control. But after using them as directed for two months, I just don't see/smell a difference. I'll save my money and just continue to use the regular filters and maybe change them more often.

You can wash the old pads with dish soap but hardly worth the trouble and they shrink some. They probably loose some functionality in the wash also.

Holmes Hap8756 True HEPA Allergen Remover/Air Purifier Review

(More customer reviews)I suffer from strong pollen allergies (watery eyes, itchy throat, itchy body, even mild asthma...).
This year has been particularly bad so far, despite a heavy use of anti-allergy medication like benadryl.
Last week I decided to buy this Holmes air purifier, to see if that works. And, surprisingly I must confess, it is actually very efficient against airborne allergens: I placed this unit in my bedroom, and I had no problem sleeping at night. My itchy throat and watery eyes completely disappeared. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
The only issue I see is that the unit is a bit noisy, but that does not prevent me from sleeping (it's like having a A/C unit on, you get used to the noise). So I recommend this air purifier for people who suffer from pollen allergies.
