(More customer reviews)I had high hopes for this product. Small as it is I figured it would be sufficient for my 8 X 10 bathroom with the door closed. To give an idea of how "efficient" this unit actually is: I placed it in the downstairs bathroom with the door closed for 24 hours. It was 68 degrees F. and the humidity was 70% when I left it. I came back late the next day and there was maybe a shot-glass full of water in the reservoir. The humidity had dropped only to 65%. I honestly can't imagine a situation where this product could be worth trying. A 2X2 doll house, maybe? Amazon should not be offering a product that doesn't work. It DOES NOT extract the stated amount of water per day; not even close.

You should know that this is not an ionizer though, it is an ozone generator!Do your research, ozone can be harmful in large amounts.Please read up on this technology!

Laser Air Quality Monitor Review

(More customer reviews)I bought one of the Dylos monitors several months ago and I was initially quite impressed.I have the more advanced, 0.5 micron model, and it reported count readings that seemed to correlate with time of day (lower reading at night) and activity (e.g. higher reading when I am dusting) However, I was not as impressed after it started to report readings that were inexplicable.For example, after a while, the reading seem to rest on a plateau of about 2200 (which signified bad air quality), whereas before it should normally read 700.I taped a piece filter paper to cover the ingress and the reading will drop to 1700.So I called up Dylos customer and technical support, who were very friendly and helpful.However, the answers I got from them were not entirely encouraging.First, the monitor had no calibrating function.So, if you suspect the reading is too high (as in my case) or too low, you are just left wondering; and of course, once you think a test or measuring tool is suspect, you don't trust/use it!Second, both the ingress and egress of the monitor has no wire gauze to protect insects from getting inside.This is not good, because if an insect got inside and contaminated the lens, the readings would be completely meaningless.Third, worse yet, you are not supposed to open up the monitor (it will void the warranty; laser might injure your eye if you are not careful) to do any cleaning.So, if, over time, cooking grease vapor, say, condensed on the surface of the lens, the accuracy of the reading would be called into question, and you cannot do any meaningful cleaning.Dylos technical support was kind enough to check and service the monitor for me (even though I admitted to having opened the unit), but the monitor still does not work right.

So, as much as I appreciate the good folks at Dylos, who really tried to help me, I just do not find this monitor a reliable tool, due to the design flaws I outlined above, which I hope they would address in a subsequent version.I hope your experience is better.

Pros:
* Removes odor out especially when we had Asian food in the room with this air purifier
* No more foul mold smell in the room (it moist and humid during winter)
* Operates quietly

Like to see improved in the product:
* Water tank is small and requires refill once a week (I run the air purifier on medium - 8 hrs a day x 7 days a week)

So far it is a good buy.

* We have placed this device in a 11x15 room...still is very effective
* Knock on wood...no Allergy and cold symptoms so far.

This version is more powerful than another one, the P100, that I have tried and that one also worked very well. This one is the most powerful they have right now and the column of warm air is slightly more intense than on the lower powered one. This one produces enough heated convection to notice if you put your hand about four inches above it. It still isn't what I would call hot though or even very warm. The blue light is still a good warning not to drape something over it which of course you're not supposed to do! The main thing is how long it will last as it is meant to run continuously. So far after a month there are no problems. This took care of the basement mold allergy problem in a 12 by 20 foot room. There was nothing to assemble. It comes out of the box and you plug it in where nothing can block the top vent and that's it. One of the most useful things I've bought in a while.

Honeywell 17000 Permanent Pure HEPA QuietCare Air Purifier Review

(More customer reviews)As someone who is highly allergic to cigarette smoke and other air pollutants and irritants, I purchased a round Honeywell HEPA air filter when it first came on the market several years ago. It still works well in the living room, but it is quite noisy even on its lowest setting.
This year I purchased another Honeywell air cleaner with a HEPA filter (Model 17400) for my bedroom because I had contacted bacterial pneumonia last year and wanted to make sure I did not get it again. Next, I purchased this Honeywell 17000 Air Cleaner (with HEPA filter) for use in a smaller bedroom which has been turned into a home office and library.
These air cleaners really work! This winter I have not had a cold or flu. Also, this Honeywell Air Cleaner with HEPA filter is whisper soft, and I have had no problems with sleeping, working, reading, watching tv, or listening to music when it is running on the low and medium settings. I leave it on all the time, and I've found that it cleans the air best when the door is closed.
It has a convenient handle on the top, so I can move it to another room quite easily. Also, it is light enough that I can take it with me in the car if I want to use it away from home.
The prefilters last about 3-6 months, (and they can be vacuumed often if you have pets who shed). I change my HEPA filter every year, but you can wait 3 years to do so. These filters are easy to change. The Model 17000 is for a smaller room, and the Model 17400 is for a larger space.
Highly recommended for anyone who has pets, who lives with or entertains people who smoke, and who is allergic to dust, molds, or pollens.
