Mine is also looks more like clear quartz because there is more white/see-through on it than there is orange. Still a lovely product, I just wish there were customer photos up. I may upload some in the future to give you readers an idea.

The photo is a bit deceptive, or at least incomplete.
See, the photo makes it look like plastic, but it's not. It's salt. It's heavy, rough, and irregular. It's a big chunk of salt.

Instructions say to clean it with a damp cloth but I'm not sure that's practical. It's pretty rough. More importantly, it casts light
the color of the photo. The light is very warm, very orange. It's NICE, but don't buy it if you don't want a warm light.

Also, the power cord is black. I'm dressing the cord along a white shelf against a white wall and would have wanted to know that.

Health benefits given the whole 'ion' thing? Not sure. I mostly wanted to warn you it has a black power cord. I like it plenty, and will buy one as a gift.
It's really pretty awesome, looks great. I might even buy another for myself. No complaint at all (except for the doggoned black power cord!)
