(More customer reviews)I bought this unit, plugged it in and within minutes I could tell the difference in the air quality. No, it does not come with a charcoal filter but it does have a pre-filter and a HEPA filter.I bought the charcoal filter separately but have not installed it yet.I ran the unit on high for an hour and it was quieter than running a fan and it removed all the smoke from the 2 smokers in the house.It comes with a remote and has 4 speeds and a timer.I had an ionic air purifier that didn't help half as much as this one does.Very happy with my purchase and I would recommend it.
